Day 5 | St. Remy to Les Baux to St. Remy (no bike) - hike to Les Beaux de Provence

Today begins with a cooking class, where you'll learn some traditional techniques and flavors of Provencal culinary arts. These will be souvenirs you take home and use again and again with each French-inspired meal you cook! Following another delicious lunch, you'll be transferred to an organic wine and olive oil producer in les Baux de Provence, considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. You'll be guided around this remarkable pilgrimage site to understand its history while enjoying sweeping views from this village built on a high outcropping overlooking the plains below, another of Van Gogh’s scenes of inspiration for many of his best works. Next you'll go underground into the quarries left behind from the stone excavated to build the village above you. Today it's known as "les Carrières de Lumières" - an interactive art experience where video and sound are projected onto walls and pillars created from excavations dug since Roman times. Finally, transfer back to Saint Remy. You may opt for a horseback ride in les Alpilles, the isolated mountain range within Provence, or spend the evening relaxing at your hotel and savoring local cuisine and wines (or both!)

"I have just returned home from our wonderful trip to Eastern Europe and wanted to tell you how pleased we were with all your arrangements. The service on the ground was really amazing. Tom was always easy to reach with the cell phone that was part of our gear, and more than accommodating. The hotels that we stayed at surpassed our expectations in every case. And the breadth of exposure to Czech history and culture was lovely. And best of all, the GPS kept us on the straight and narrow most of the time. "
