Day 1 | Arrive in Colmar

SATURDAY: Arrival day in Colmar. Lying in the heart of the vineyards of the Alsace, Colmar is known for its historic district (now a vast pedestrian zone), with medieval houses boasting carved gables, galleries with beautiful banisters and doors adorned with lavish woodwork. Discover the charm of the old town, its prestigious monuments and its picturesque quarters, such as the Little Venice and the tanners' quarter! Meet our local representative for your orientation meeting. Tonight, you will stay in Hotel le Maréchal. Dinner is on your own.
Getting to Colmar:The closest international airports are EUROAIRPORT (Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg) or STRASBOURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT providing train and bus connections to Colmar; direct TGV trains from Paris go to Colmar from Paris Gare d'Est possible

Day 2 | Colmar to Rouffach (40 km)

After breakfast you leave the historic town of Colmar and continue gentle ride along the Munster valley, going through the charming town of Soultzbach les Bains. You ride through the Ballon des Vosges National Park and arrive to Rouffach. Take advantage and explore this little town with rich history. Browse through the narrow streets of Rouffach bordered with some fine houses from the 15th to the 17th centuries which once belonged to opulent and wealthy families. Set an eye on one of the Rouffach’s principal monuments the Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, build in yellow sandstone in Romanesque and Gothic styles. Find you five star hotel, and there you will spend your second night. Dinner on your own.

Day 3 | Rouffach to Kaysesberg (38 km)

Today you ride in the vineyards, and will fall in love with the little villages on the way. There is always an option to stop in one of the numerous wine cellars for wine tasting. Todays’ destination is Kaysesberg, a tourist hotspot, with nice main square surrounded by lots of painted half-timbered houses of the Renaissance era in Alsace, which are filling its entire pedestrian center. Explore this unique town, and you will find for example 16th century fortified stone bridge, or 13 -15th century roman style Church Sainte-Croix. Continue on just to admire the historic town hall, towers, ramparts, or nearby castle ruins, now only presenting its beautiful round tower adding up to the charm of the town. When you are done exploring, be sure to stop in a café, perhaps to sample Tokay, the local wine. Get settled in your hotel, and find great spot for dinner.

Day 4 | Kaysesberg to Obernai (60 km)

While finishing your breakfast, you can get excited about what lays ahead of you today. Itinerary will take you to the famous vineyard of charming colorful village Ribeauvillé and Barr, a picturesque little town at the foot of the Mont Sainte-Odile and the Pagan wall, also known by its vineyards. Continue riding and get ready for a fantastic view of the Koenigsbourg castle. There is a 9 km extension ride possible to visit the castle. Tonight you will stay in hotel in Obernai. (9 km extension possible to visit the castle)

- The terrain is rolling countryside, and very picturesque. Weather in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall can be wet and cold.
- Summer months are the best time through September. Countryside routes are quiet but at the wine villages you will find crowds of visitors.
- Arrival city is Colmar, an exquisite town in the heart of the wine route; accessible by train from Paris or Frankfurt passing through Strasbourg - the capital of the region..
