Italy - Venice to Croatia Istrian Peninsula Cycling
3 Countries in 7 Nights with a common Venetian heritage all along the way as you follow the Adriatic coast through history! Try something new while still getting some classics such as a start in world famous Venice! Visit Trieste, cross into Slovenia, and then into Croatia's Istrian peninsula. Istria is one of Croatia's best places; the inland area resembles Tuscany and the coast boasts great medieval towns and very good beaches. It is also a place for olive oil, wine, and truffles, not to mention excellent homemade pasta! The cycling is moderate in difficulty requiring some good fitness and regular riding prepations. Average daily rides are approximately 50km with some longer and shorter days. Weather is a typical Mediterranean climate; warm temperatures throughout most of the year with higher temps in peak summer. Because the tour is a one-way trip and bikes have to be returned, we offer a few ways to depart at the end. HIGHLIGHTS: Venice, Caorle founded in 1st century BC, UNESCO Roman city of Aquileia, Grado, Piran in Slovenia, seafood delights of Novigrad, coastal village of Rovinj, a former Venetian stronghold.
