    Other comments sent in 2017-2018:
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Vietnam/Cambodia! Highlights: - biking in rural areas, going through villages and fields/paddies was very interesting and just what we were hoping to see. - we were very well supported during the biking. Having a guide was, of course, essential, but there was also a mechanic/assistant riding with us and this came in handy with the occasional flat tire - bikes were in good condition - guides were very thoughtful about our physical condition, especially when we were starting the ride and getting used to the bikes - guides would stop whenever asked so we could look more closely at things or have an explanation - we would particularly comment that our guide, Khai, in Hue and Hoi An was superb. Very informative and knowledgeable. We don't know how much of the activity is set up by the guide and how much is decided on by the company, but our time with Khai was terrific. If he set up all the activities, then he did a great job! He took us to some unique restaurants and had special treats such as foot massages during a river cruises. At one of the restaurants, we had a cooking lesson, and this was a lot of fun. - In Siem Reap/ Ankor Wat, Rida was very accommodating about what we wanted to see. On the second day there, we felt we had seen lots of temples and didn't necessarily need to finish the whole "Grand Tour". Rida adjusted the schedule and picked out the top places to visit rather than seeing everything. This was much appreciated. - the Hotel in Siem Reap (Viroth's hotel) was exceptional. Probably one of the best hotels we have every stayed at in terms of service. - although not part of the tour, we took a motorcycle "street food" tour in Ho Chi Minh City with Saigon Adventures. It was superb. In a 4 hour tour, we visited many small food stalls and markets, cooked some of our own food, and had a great time. I'm sure there are practical and insurance considerations with including something like this with your tour package, but it really was terrific In HCMC, seeing the Cu Chi tunnels and the War Remnants museum was very worthwhile Could be better/leave it out: HCMC Post office wasn't very thrilling. The cathedral was under construction and so we didn't see inside it. Eldora Hotel in Hue was a little odd. Superficially it tried to be a grand hotel, but showed a lot of wear. The glass walled bathroom was very strange and would be uncomfortable if you were staying with someone other than family/ an intimate. Weird decor and dangerously scalding hot water. Could look at a different hotel for staying in Hue In Siem Reap, we went up the mountain to see the sunset. This turned out to be a disappointing experience. Not really much to see on the way up and not much to see at the top. Overall, this was a terrific tour. Very well organized. We felt we were very well looked after.

"The trip was amazing and exceeded all expectations. All of the guides and drivers were great, but the ones in Cambodia were exceptional.
Bike rental Options: Giant Any Road 2 and Trek Hybrid 7.3fx are available in combination, or the Trek 4300 mountain bike to cover all types of terrain.
In Vietnam you have some choices of bikes and, due to the flight and change of location to Hue and Central Coast area, you will change bikes. In Hanoi/Halong you have a choice of road bike with drop bars and skinny tires or a mountain bike. In Hue/Danang/Hoi An you have a choice of hybrid or mountain bike. We recommend the road bike in the first part of the trip and the hybrid in the second part of the trip, but you should choose what makes you most comfortable. The mountain bikes offer fat tires that do well on all surfaces and city riding but are heavier and require more effort to cover distance. Note: all terrain is mostly flat except day 5 there is a 5% grade hill.

Bikes are equipped with at least 1 bottle cage and bottle, come with helmet, and flat pedals. You may bring your own clipless pedals and we will install/remove for you. Flat tire tools and materials are also provided for each rider. Your support vehicle/guide will carry spares and other material so you don't need to carry anything else.

See bike specs for each model here.
