We will make a stop at Ikateq to look at the historical remnants and ruins of World War II. It was here that the Americans ran an airfield from 1942–47, with the codename of “Bluie East Two.” Continuing on, we arrive in Sermiligaaq Fjord, which means “The Beautiful Glacier Fjord”. Take in the view of two simultaneously calving glaciers, Karale Glacier on your left side and Knud Rasmussen Glacier straight ahead of you. We will go ashore and enjoy lunch here. See where the Greenland Ice Shield touches the sky on the horizon. If time allows, take a stroll around the settlement on your own. Then we will continue to Sermilik Fjord, enjoying our lunch with a view of the giant icebergs. Heading south in the Sermilik Fjord, we sail around Ammassalik Island and return to Tasiilaq. Lunch, warm drinks, and a down cover-up are all included.

The museum has many historical treasures, and you can learn about the life and history of East Greenland. Above the church, you will enjoy a beautiful view over the town. In this area, you will be able to see the oldest houses of the town, where the polar explorer, Ejnar Mikkelsen, lived. After some stops for browsing and maybe the purchase of a small crafts item or souvenir, we head to the Flower Valley.
