Follow a beautiful stepped trail that meanders down to the Mediterranean Sea, The Natural Park of Monte di Portofino, and experience the fine flora, fauna and food that the area is known for. Enjoy the medieval castles and shrines that define the region and have shaped it into the UNESCO world heritage site that it is today. This self-guided tour by Pure Adventures will take you through what is truly the best of Cinque Terre.
Tour begins in Levanto and finishes in La Spezia; we recommend flying in/out of Florence and traveling by train.

Need to Know:
Individual arrival at Levanto train station and transfer to hotel on your own; we recommend grabbing a taxi at the station. After getting checked in, you can take time to visit the area at your leisure. The village of Levanto is a lovely place to walk and explore. The church (XIII century), the castle, the lovely hills and the beautiful beach are all worth visiting. Dinner at your hotel is included tonight.
After breakfast, enjoy your first walk across the Punta Mesco Cape. Starting from the Levanto historical center and passing the ancient medieval defensive walls, the mule track will lead us into the pine forest with a beautiful viewpoint on the sea. Arrival in Monterosso, which is the first village of the “Cinque Terre National Park”. Visit the elegant historical center, the Capuchin Monastery, and explore the typical narrow and winding Ligurian streets. Take the train back to Levanto (5 minutes, you buy ticket locally). Tonight, enjoy a Ligurian dinner on your own and then relax at your same hotel back in Levanto.

After breakfast, take the train to Camogli (40 minutes). Camogli, the “Land of a Thousand White Sailing Ships,” still retains its old and strong maritime tradition linked to the nearby town of Genoa, from the time of the Maritime Republics. The hike of today will lead to the beautiful Abbey of San Fruttuoso, that appears like a mirage amidst the small wooded bay. Continue into the oak forest, through Mediterranean flowers and terraces of olive trees, onward to the beautiful seaside village of Portofino. From here, ferry back to Santa Margherita (20 minutes) and train back to Levanto (35 minutes).

Highlights: Camogli, Abbey of San Fruttuoso
After breakfast, take a private transfer to Vernazza (1.5 hours). Vernazza is a tiny coastal village and from here, begins the trail in the direction of the terraced vineyards. Hiking through olives trees and lush oak forest, we’ll reach the village of Corniglia, which sits perched atop a hillside. After visiting its historical center, keep following the steps and the cobblestone path until you reach the charming seaside town of Manarola, the fourth of the Cinque Terre, enjoying a pleasant walk among the agave and lemon trees.

After breakfast, you will take a train to Riomaggiore (only 2 minutes!) After passing through the narrow street of Riomaggiore, which is the last village of the Cinque Terre, start climbing toward the Madonna di Montenero Sanctuary. Enjoying the colors and the perfume of the rosemary, myrtle and flowering arbutus, reach the quaint mountain village of Campiglia. Your walk ends in Portovenere, one of the most fascinating village of the Ligurian coastline. Take a boat trip back to Manarola to enjoy a splendid view of the coast from the sea (50 minutes).

After breakfast, you will go out for your final hike in the beautiful Cinque Terre! From Manarola, start walking up to Monte Capri. Along the walk you will encounter a fallen menhir that is almost 4 meters high. Continue the hike to the top of Monte Capri and then make your way down to Groppo, where you can enjoy a winery tour and tasting. Afterwards, make your way back down to Manarola, where you will spend one more night.

Great accomodation great owners very helpful and willingly could not be better PA spoke briefly via phone re orientation and had his cell Our last walk we didn’t do since seas were rough boats not running and there was no alternative return trip We could have trained back or bus but added another 2-3 hours after a long day The second walk from the north of Levanto was excellent and we would recommend first night there as to get there was 1-2 hours and had no time in the artisan village .. nice non touristy wares and then move to Levanto My partner was happy We are fit mid fifties but would not think walks easy for anyone with osteoarthritis in Knee and hips
