Day 1Arrival to Bergen

Today you arrive to the center of the former Viking capital, Bergen. Your hotel is centrally located near the harbour so you have access to all of the best sites! Take a stroll this afternoon and explore all that Bergen has to offer: the colorful harbour, the lively fish market, and many narrow and winding streets. Tonight, we recommend having some traditional Norwegian “fish soup,” which is a delicious way to end your day!

Today you will have the morning to further explore Bergen. Visit the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bergen Bryggen, the historic village made up of colorful building and winding alleyways. Or, you can take the Funicular up to Mt Fløyen and get the best view of the city and harbour and perhaps a hike down! This afternoon you will depart for the Altantic coastal cruise. This four hour sightseeing cruise is on a catamaran and offers great scenery throughout. Sit in comfortable seating among the many locals using this boat to as every day transportation from villages along the coast. Have a coffee and a special treat from the cafeteria on board. At Smørhamn you will disembark and be picked up by your hotel host, who will take you quickly to the beautiful fishing village of Kalvåg. We recommend eating dinner here tonight – the chef uses local fresh catches and the cuisine is absolutely wonderful!

Meals: breakfast
Highlights: Bergen exploration and Kalvåg

Day 3Guided Hike

After enjoying a delicious breakfast spread, your guide will pick you up for your guided hike, which starts from a beautiful beach along the coast. Don’t forget your bathing suit because you will want to go for a swim afterwards, relaxing in the pristine waters and white sandy beach. After your hike you will drive off island and along the Nordfjord, noticing how your landscape changes dramatically. Your guide will take you to the small town of Davik, where you will be welcomed by our local friends at their historic sheep farm and home.
