US – Colorado Vail to Aspen Snowmass E-Bike Tour

0

“We are so happy we chose you and you did and exceptional job! Thank you so much for all the work you did for us and this vacation was just what we needed.”  – D. Case / June 2020

A high mountain experience using dedicated bike path and with some moderate climbing makes this e-bike experience is ideal for cycling enthusiasts who seek fun instead of the leg burning challenges of our guided trip!  Starting in Vail, follow mostly bike path through scenic Glenwood Canyon to Glenwood Springs, then gently uphill to Aspen Snowmass along a dedicated Rails to Trails bike path, ending with a stay in an iconic mountain atmosphere! From here you can ride to the Maroon Bells, a gorgeous ride over quiet and mostly closed roads. Post rides, you have the unique opportunity to discover local craft beer or craft distilled spirits, as well as local and organic foods – new traditions that thrive in Colorado and give unique style to mountain living. Locals play hard outdoors and relax in style.

The paths are wide, away from traffic and offer amazing views of the peaks all around. You will pass near to the small town of Carbondale and then Basalt, as you make a gradual climb to Aspen Snowmass, through the valley of the picture-perfect Roaring Fork River. Stop through quirky & eclectic Woody Creek, where some famous locals used to belly up to the bar! Then, finish with a slightly more steep uphill as you make your way to the beautiful mountain-side village of Snowmass. Enjoy the rewarding views of Mt. Daly, as you make your way and keep your eyes peeled for the elk that call this valley their home. Dinner will be on your own this evening and we highly recommend your hotel for a delicious meal!

– Dinner in Woody Creek
– Four Course Wine Dinner

Day 4Maroon Bells & Ashcroft Loop

After breakfast on your own, you can decide when to start your ride. The “must do” ride in this valley features some truly epic Colorado scenery and we don’t use that term lightly. This is our favorite cycling of the week, which begins with a warm up spin and then a gradual climb to the Maroon Bells, known as the most photographed peaks in North America. Bring a sack lunch or some snacks to enjoy at Maroon Lake at the ‘top’ of your ride. If you’re feeling ambitious, take a short hike while you are there! After your stop at Maroon Lake, you will descend towards Aspen when you can choose to take another climb up the gorgeous Castle Creek Valley to the ghost town of Ashcroft, or take a spin around the historical town of Aspen, or use a number of the bike paths to explore further on your own. We can arrange for you to enjoy a sunset dinner at a cabin in the mountains, a true Colorado BBQ cookout under the stars, complete with musician, bonfire, and jeep tour.

Distance/Elevation: 22 mi roundtrip Maroon Lake + other options, +1775 ft
