Day 1Arrival in Alberobello

Arrive in the charming town of Alberobello, a short distance from the coast and easily accessible by train from Bari. To reach Bari, the capital of the region, you can fly from Rome (1 hour 20 minutes) or take a train (4+ hours). Plan to arrive in Alberobello at your hotel by 4 PM. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our representative for a bike fitting and tour orientation, with a scheduled time arranged in advance.

Day 2Alberobello Loop Ride: 50 km / 31 mi

Discover Alberobello! Nestled in the heart of Puglia’s Valle d’Itria, these charming trulli are scattered throughout the region. Pedal along the Apulian Aqueduct route, the “Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto,” toward Locorotondo, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. On your return to Alberobello, you’ll cycle through the enchanting town of Martina Franca, renowned for its stunning Baroque architecture. Enjoy the scenic ride and discover the unique charm of this captivating region.

Day 3Alberobello to Monopoli: 47 km / 29 mi

Bid farewell to beautiful Alberobello and its charming trulli houses as you leisurely ride down to the Adriatic coast. Arrive at Polignano a Mare, one of the most captivating towns, perched dramatically on the edge of a cliff. Take time to explore the old town and visit the balconies offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. Continuing along the coast, you’ll reach Monopoli, a perfect blend of sea, culture, and history.

Day 4Monopoli to Ostuni: 48 km / 30 mi

Begin your cycling journey by exploring the historic courtyards and arches of Monopoli’s old town. Continue along the scenic coast, passing beautiful shores and hidden coves. As you pedal, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of a vast landscape dotted with ancient olive trees, some centuries-old and others millennia-old. Gradually, the striking white silhouette of Ostuni, famously known as “The White Town” for its dazzling whitewashed buildings and walls, will come into view on the hills.

Day 5Ostuni to Grottaglie: 45 km / 28 mi

The route takes you through the scenic Apulian countryside, adorned with ancient olive trees, heading towards Ceglie Messapica, a town celebrated for its rich history and delicious cuisine. Finally, arrive in Grottaglie, renowned for its artisanal ceramics and beautiful countryside views. This ride offers a perfect blend of nature, history, and culture!

Day 6Grottaglie to Manduria: 60 km / 37 mi

On today’s cycling route, you’ll traverse the stunning plateau of the Murge Tarantine, located on the eastern side of the Taranto province. As you ride, you’ll pass through charming villages like Monteparano, Roccaforzata (perched atop Serra Sant’Elia, the area’s highest hill), and Faggiano (nestled at the foot of the hill). Breathe in the fresh scents of the Mediterranean scrub and enjoy the picturesque views as you cycle towards the Ionian coast. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by lush vineyards, signaling your approach to Manduria, the renowned town of Primitivo DOC wine, where you’ll rest for the night.

Day 7 Manduria to Lecce: 60 km / 37 mi

Continue to San Pancrazio Salentino, where you’ll experience the tranquility of this rural town, before heading to Guagnano, known for its agricultural heritage and stunning views. Finally, cycle through Salice Salentino, a quaint town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, before reaching Lecce, the “Florence of the South,” celebrated for its magnificent Baroque architecture. This farewell route offers a perfect blend of culture, nature, and history, showcasing the true beauty of the Salento region.
