Tour starts in Padstow, easily reached via train from London Paddington to Bodmin Parkway, followed by a bus or taxi to Padstow. Tour ends in Charlestown, with departure options by local bus or a short taxi ride to St. Austell station for a return train to London.

Day 12:30 PM Orientation, Arrival in Padstow & Coastal Walk to Hawkers Cove: 7 km / 4.5 mi

Your Cornwall adventure begins in the picturesque harbor town of Padstow, where our welcoming local guide will meet you at your hotel at 2:30 PM for check-in assistance and a relaxed orientation. From there, enjoy a gentle coastal walk to Hawkers Cove, a tranquil stretch of white sand and crystal-clear water at the mouth of the River Camel—an ideal way to ease into the journey ahead. As you return to Padstow, soak in the charm of this beloved culinary destination, where you can savor classic fish and chips or treat yourself to a memorable dinner at Rick Stein’s iconic Seafood Restaurant.

Day 2Coastal Wonders & Hidden Church Spires from Rock to Daymer Bay: 17 km / 10.5 mi

Your second day in Cornwall begins with a scenic foot ferry across the Camel Estuary to the delightful seaside village of Rock, where your coastal adventure unfolds with a hike to the windswept cliffs of Pentire Head via the lively beach town of Polzeath. As you cross the rolling dunes, pause to admire the whimsical St Enodoc Church, its spire famously described by poet Sir John Betjeman as “bent like a crooked witch’s hat.” The route continues along the golden curves of Polzeath and Daymer Bay, offering breathtaking sea views and a refreshing sea breeze, before you return to Padstow for another relaxing evening in this charming harbor town.

Keep an eye out for peregrine falcons soaring overhead, and stop by the observation hut to learn about the infamous Doom Bar—a sandbar steeped in maritime lore. From there, follow the rugged coastline past the golden sands and turquoise waters of Trevone, Harlyn Bay, and Constantine Bay, each offering its own charm and dramatic seascapes, before returning to Padstow for a final evening in this vibrant harbor town.

If you arrive by lunchtime, indulge in fresh local lobster at The King’s Arms before returning to your cozy base in Charlestown, a Georgian gem and Poldark filming favorite, for a relaxing evening.

Along the way, soak in sweeping sea views, explore wooded trails, and, time permitting, glimpse the author’s former home. After wandering Fowey’s charming streets and harbor, return via the Bodinnick Ferry and bus for a final relaxing evening in Charlestown.
