Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Lisbon, Transfer to Arrifana

Flying into Lisbon airport, we will transfer you to the first hotel in the seaside town of Arrifana. This is the perfect place for you to start your tour, explore and breathe in the fresh sea air! We will then give you an orientation, equipment set up, and review of the week to come. If time allows, you can use free time to explore this delightful seaside village or walk along the coast to watch the waves. We recommend a stroll with the family along the pedestrian streets for some window shopping and people watching. Dinner is on your own, so we offer some recommendations for a nice seafood dinner.

Overnight: Arrifana

Day 2Arrifana Loop Ride

Your adventure starts today, following a dirt track that will lead you towards the ocean. Enjoy the views in Ponta da Arrifana, with the infinite blue horizon as your backdrop. There, you will find ruins of an old fortress and have mesmerizing views of the rugged, steep cliffs. Continue along the village and Arrifana Beach, one of the best surfing destinations in all of Portugal! From there, you will return to the hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 3Free Day in Arrifana

Today is a free day and you have the opportunity to relax and discover the well-preserved and impressive nature of this small town. The beaches follow one another; some of them with long swathes of sand, others smaller, and all framed by the beautiful schist and limestone cliffs. Today you can try your hand at some SUP (stand up paddleboarding) or surfing; lessons are available at Arrifana Beach. For some sightseeing, take a taxi to Aljezur, the nearby Moorish village (15 min) to visit the market or climb up to the remains of its medieval castle.

Day 4Arrifana to Pedralva

Today you will ride through some forest and again get close to the sea, by way of the incredible village of Carrapateira. This quiet, pretty village spreads out and is surrounded by wild coastline, copper-colored cliffs covered in yellow and green scrub, set against creamy, white sand. Follow a dirt road along the sea, where it is possible to see this region at its finest. On the way, pass by stunning beaches and more colorful cliffs. Continue up the dirt road, passing through a beautiful pine forest until you arrive to a typical, old village, once abandoned but now revived: Pedralva Village.

Vicente – the south-westernmost point of Continental Europe. This is truly a magical place where you can almost hear the echoes of the voices of sailors and pilgrims… Rounded out by monumental cliffs and outstanding views of the coastline, this is a highly privileged area to watch the natural phenomenon of bird migration.
